"Promenade Ward"

About: Mill View Hospital

Anything else?

I spent a week in Promenade Ward last year to have an alcohol detox. I felt very nervous and scared when I got to the main reception where I was welcomed by a friendly face who took me up to the ward. Once there I was surprised how light & clean the ward was. I was greeted & introduced to the staff team & taken through. the process of being admitted & what I could expect during my stay. I enjoyed my stay, attended an AA meeting & my Named Nurse completed relapse recovery work with me. I would not have a word said about the staff, they were all marvellous. The only issue is was that there was no cover or canopy outside for the smokers, which was the majority of us during my stay.. Unlike another reviewer, I would have no idea if any of the staff smoke, they certainly didn't use the patients smoking area or smell of smoke.

Thank you for your comments. I am really pleased that Promenade was such a positive experience for you and wish you well for your continued recovery. I have passed the comments you have made to Rory Hearne the manager of Promenade Ward so that he can discuss them with his ward team and our facilities department.

Kind regards
