My son has been brought in a couple of times. He has an allergy to milk which results in sore stomachs and diahorrea. He was admitted straight away and did various tests – watched him feeding to see how he reacted. Then they tried him on a special milk.
I feel the staff sat and listened to me. I have bowel problems myself and I was really anxious about whether he had inherited what I had – I think that’s one of the reasons they did all the tests.
He just had an allergy thankfully.
The follow up is good too. He doesn’t have an allergy any more but they still check up on him. They set up an appointment with a dietician who gave me tips about how we could adjust how we eat as a family for my son’s sake. When we went on holiday the dietician gave me a website I could check out to make sure I was choosing the proper foods when we were there. We were also given a special recipe book.
