I was rushed to A&E at one o'clock in the morning. The consultant was wonderful. I believe that it is due to his skill and care that I am alive today. The ICU were very kind and thoughtful and I was provided with excellent care and my dignity was maintained at all times. However, this good work was nearly undone by the poor care provided on A5. For example, they lost my notes, were not sure if I had had my medication on a number of occasions and when I requested a bedpan they left me soiled for forty minutes as no one was available to provide one.
