I was called in for further assessment following a routine mammogram which had indicated changes since my last one. Throughout the whole process of diagnosis and treatment at Russells Hall I received efficient, caring and professional attention from all the staff involved : from radiologists, breast care nurses, consultants, surgeons and anaethetists, all the staff on the day surgery unit and also from the porter who was assigned to guide us from one department to the other for the procedures before the operation itself. Everything went very smoothly and with great care and respect shown towards me at all times. Before the operation I felt very reassured and confident about the treatment I would receive having had the opportunity to talk to the breast care staff and to the surgeon involved. I would like to thank everyone involved last week during my operation. Throughout the process all staff listened attentively, explained things well and were good at diverting me to reduce my apprehension! The Booklets from Breast Cancer Care .org that I was given in stages during the whole process were very informative and helped me further understand my treatment.
