Anything else?
having had several scans, meetings and procedures, I had an appointment to see a surgeon to review my case, bowl cancer, in order to determine the best surgical way forward for me. My appointment was at 10.50am. at approx. 11.30am I was informed that my notes had been mislaid but would soon be found as they would be in the tower block attached to the hospital where all the secretaries reside. About 15 minutes later I was called in to see the surgeon and commented "you've found my notes" only to be told "no, sorry, but the surgeon knows about your case as he has spoken to the previous surgeon who had done the final ultrasound scan" How can this have happened? The other surgeon had done the scan in Cheltenham, but with electronic storage and movement of information, surly that information should be available at the press of of a button? i.e. summary care records. This does leave me feeling a little uneasy regarding the efficiency of this new system.
"lost notes"
