Anything else?
I first went to the A&E department in barnet with kidney stones. The same evening they transferred me to Chase Farm hospital as they said I would need surgery. I arrived at the A&E in Chase Farm and gave the receptionist my notes from barnet hospital. I then waited for about 7 hours for a bed. I was screaming in pain and asking nurses for pain killers as they passed, there answer was simply 'I'm busy it's not my job' . After being seen by a doctor I was told there was a shortage of beds and they would see what they could do. After another 2 hours no one had been to see me so I had to go to the receptionist myself and ask what I should do as I was in so much pain and could barley move. She then told me to go through to where the nurses are and ask. After 3 times of asking and crying in pain I was finally given pain killers and a bed. The service was awful. I was on my own and in so much pain but was ignored constantly by rude staff. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days and it got worse. I waited for surgery with no food and drink to then be told I was no longer having surgery on that day. The first surgery was unsuccessful so I then had to go through the procedure again in the next few days. I am a young girl studying as a student in London so it was difficult for my family to see me, and with some of the staff being so rude I felt very alone and unsure what was going on. I ended up having to have another scan as the procedure was performed incorrectly. The whole hospital seemed very unorganised and I was always uncertain of what was going to happen next. Once in the ward an old woman opposite was ringing her bell for the nurse, nobody came so I got up myself to find one and they were all just having a chat by the reception, it is just unacceptable. However there were a few staff who were very friendly and I would like to thank these people who made my stay slightly bareable, I would not recommend this hospital to anybody.
"Awful."
