"Chemo treatment over 48 hours Ward O1"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

Anything else?

I'm just home after a 48 hour stay on Ward O1 at The Royal Hallamshire. I had been due to receive my chemo at Weston Park, but on arrival there, staff apologised that there was no bed available, so my notes, and chemo had been sent to The Hallamshire. I was offered a taxi to take me there. The ward were expecting me and it was a Weston Park ward. I just wanted to say how wonderful my stay was! All the staff were all highly professional, caring and friendly. The meals were well cooked, plentiful and the choice on the menu offered something for everyone. The ward was extremely well maintained; surfaces wiped daily, floors swept and mopped and the member of staff doing this job was lovely! The support staff who brought our meals and refreshments were lovely and friendly too. The nursing staff were professional, calm and I felt like an individual, not just another patient! My treatments were dealt with promptly and this meant that I was discharged efficiently - discharge letter and prescription all sorted way ahead of discharge! A huge thank you to every member of staff who dealt with me over my stay.

Dear J Warburton

Thank you for taking the time to give us your kind words about the care you received recently on Ward O1 at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

It is always nice for staff to hear of such positive experiences especially at what is a very difficult time for patients. I will ensure these are passed on to them.

I hope you are recovering well form your treatment.
