Anything else?
I have been unfortunate to have been taken ill twice in the last few weeks & had to be taken to the Royal Sussex by ambulance. Both times I had felt unwell, going very hot & cold, feeling nauseous, sweating, cold chills, feeling extremely dizzy & very shaky, blurred vision & having a horrendous headache the second time. Both times I passed out & banged my head fairly hard. When I came round I was very disorientated & unable to get up as my legs were like jelly. Luckily each time I was in a shop & the staff were very helpful, keeping me reassured & calling an ambulance. They also made sure my belongings were safe & stayed with me till I was in the ambulance. The paramedics were excellent, helping me & lifting me (I am a big lady, due to being disabled & on crutches all the time) onto trolleys & transferring me at A&E. The A&E staff were just as brilliant, checking me frequently & thoroughly, making sure I knew & understood exactly what was going on at all times, ensuring I could give informed consent to each procedure & doing a wonderful job in very busy circumstances. They were cheerful as well, doing all they could for everyone, even though there were a few patients there who even I could tell shouldn't have been in an Emergency dept! After tests, there was no conclusive answer as to why I'd collapsed, but they never made me feel that I'd wasted their time or resources. I was sent home later the same day each time, but reassured that I was to either return or call at any time if I felt ill again. So far I've been okay but I know I can rely on the staff of the RSCH & its A&E dept for excellent care should I become unwell again. Thank you to all involved.
"A&E experiences both excellent. Thank you to all..."
