A List of events:
Nov: 2012 CVE and a referral made to cardiology.
After visits to GP an apt with cardiac team and an angiogram apt made.
June: 2013 Angiogram and results suggested quadruple bypass asap.
June: 2013 following angiogram CVE on following day and admitted to stroke ward Derriford Plymouth.
July: 2013 heart attack admitted to Derriford to await surgery.
Aug: 2013 triple bypass.
The cardiac team in Derriford were excellent, from ITU following op, through to discharge. A small hiccup on HDU (maybe a bit of a personality clash).
On discharge from the hospital the follow up care from district nurses and the Cardiac Rehab Team was second to none. I attended the Plymouth Community Healthcare Gym YMCA (Kitto) and found this invaluable for regaining my confidence and improving my quality of life.
I cannot praise everyone enough for their understanding and support. I feel it would be wrong to single out any one person as this experience has brought me into contact with a dedicated patient centred team.
I now am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life.
