"Brilliant hospital from start to finish"

Firstly, ensure that you attend for your mammograms! It was during a routine mammogram that a suspicious area was noticed. One week later I had to attend the nightingale centre for another mammogram and immediately after this was given an ultrasound and core needle biopsy. The following week I saw the consultant who confirmed that I had a cancer of the milk duct and surgery was required to remove it along with a lymph node/s which would be sent off for analysis and results will follow. This morning, 10 days after initial diagnosis, I attended the Nightingale centre at 0830hrs where I had a guide wire fitted and also dye to locate lymph nodes. Ladies do not be concerned at all - everyone at the nightingale centre was brilliant and it was a pretty painless procedure. By 10:45 I was on ward F16 and by 11:10am was ready for theatre. Operation was performed and I was back on the ward at just gone 1400hrs - at home now (1900hrs) and enjoying a lovely cup of tea ?. I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff at the nightingale centre, all on ward F16 - the anesthetist and the whole team which looked after me during my operation. I would also like to say a big thank you to the consultant for his skill and professionalism. Throughout the whole experience I was treated in a dignified , but friendly and caring way. thank you !
