"The caring attitude of the staff ..."

About: Dorset County Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The caring attitude of the staff from consultants to floor cleaners. Family and friends are made to feel welcome and (with the patients permission) questions about health were answered.

Patients were always encouraged and never made to feel obliged.

Although I wasn't the patient my feed back from the patient concerned was nothing but praise, with few exceptions.

What could be improved

Although every effort is made to accommadate food requirements,(you can't please all of the people, all of the time!) I felt that a few more 'basic' foods could have been added to the menu with very little extra cost.

Non-slip under sheets for those slippery mattresses would be a godsend. would free up nurses time (wouldn't have to keep running to beds to help patients to sit up) and it would also help to prevent nurses from falling foul of the back strain syndrome. simple concept, still hygenic and totally practicable.
