I was took into Queen Elizabeth hospital for a week before transfered to Addenbrookes in May 2003. I had 2 strokes but found the staff were friendly but never showed any understanding of a stroke. Not one member of staff helped me to cut my food up and one nurse got annoyed with me when I spilt a drink as I had lost my balance. It was the paitents who supported each other. When I was transfered to Addenbrookes I was put in a ward with coma paitents which was scary. I had a nurse there got very annoyed as I had a big bag full of clothes etc and she didn't like it on the floor but offered no help to get some of it put in a cupboard considering I had only use of one arm. There needs to be more understanding of nurses on strokes when they are on their wards.
