"Fracture clinic outpatient"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

My wife had an appointment at 8.30am on Tuesday Nov.12th. Many people had been there since 8am. The first doctors turned up very late and the first patient was called in at 9.10am. Staff were apparently aimlessly wandering about with no leadership. They were discussing matters that gave patients the impression that the right hand didn't't know what the left hand was doing. The receptionist, when seeing the eventual arrival of a doctor said " you shouldn't be on duty today"! They also could not find the doctors patient list, blaming other people. This all in full view of the patients. It all gave an atmosphere of complete chaos. Surely a staff briefing should take place each morning and when there are delays then an explanation to the patients should be forthcoming.
