My appointment was at 3pm today, I left work in good time 40 mins for a 20 minute journey, 10 mins to park the car and 10 mins to get from car to appointment, but the traffic in Rock Avenue was backed up, it took me 30 minutes to park, the other car park was also full, by the time I got to my appointment I was 20 minutes late, the Doctor refused to see me. This was not my fault, I could not abandon my car, what else could I do. The car parking is not good enough. I now have to wait until December for another appointment, I have taken 2 hours off work unpaid, plus £2.00 parking for nothing. Something needs to be done and the Doctors should be more understanding. When you are coming from work you cannot leave hours before your appointment because of the Car Park. My boss would not tolerate that.

We are sorry to hear that you missed your appointment due to traffic and trouble finding a parking space. We are aware that the site can become congested at times and with this in mind the Trust has recently carried out a review of car parking and traffic management on the Medway site. We are pleased to confirm that a number of improvements that we feel will relieve some of the congestion, will be introduced shortly. These will include a new patient barrier system, new signage to include electronic space counts and new road markings.
