Just over 12 months ago my husband awoke early with pain in his chest and down both arms.
I rang for an ambulance which arrived within 10 minutes. The paramedics were amazing and initiated treatment in the ambulance.
We were taken straight to Coronary Care at Barnsley District General Hospital (NOT to A&E), where my husband received excellent treatment for the whole of the 5 days he was in there.
He was transferred to the medical ward for a further 3 days, and again we couldn't fault the care he received.
We have nothing but praise for all concerned and quite frankly, after all the negative things we have read about the NHS, we were astonished at the quality of medical and nursing care.
Another point I would like to make is regarding the standards of cleanliness. Again, this was excellent.
I might also add that our GPs (Dr. Polkinghorn and Partners, Wath-on-Dearne) have provided top quality after care which, like the ambulance service and hospital care, we cannot fault.
