Anything else?
I attended Ipswich hospital to see a specialist for my ankle. No doctor had really listened to my concerns and I almost had to beg to see a specialist. She was brilliant, and was able to see a problem right away, and referred me for an MRI scan to confirm this. I was told it would take 4 to 5 weeks before I could have the MRI. So after 4 weeks and no letter I phoned the hospital to see what was happening. No history of me being referred. Nothing! So they referred me again, and apologised. Then I was told that I'd have to wait 4 to 6 weeks, again! This is quite frankly appalling, as I'm now having to suffer because of someone else's error. Why should I be put behind a queue of people who were referred after me, but had the good fortune of not being 'lost in the system?' I'm extremely disappointed in how the hospital has handled their own error, and can't understand why they're not rectifying this and squeezing me in ASAP. Meanwhile, the injury continues to seriously affect my working life, and all I can do is rest outside of it. I tried contacting the PALS service, but even within their working hours, I've not been able to speak to somebody.
"Good care but 'lost in the system'"
