Had a first appointment with a consultant on a Saturday morning. As part of treatment given a private prescription. At reception asked how i went about getting the medicine. Pharmacy closed and anyway would have to pay. Said I was NHS patient over 65 and shouln't have to pay. Blank look! but asked consultant who advised receptionist I would have to get GP appt and get NHS prescription. Consultant didn't advise me of this during consultation (maybe thought I was private patient). So I now have to make an app with my GP to get this medicine and go thro all the hassle of obtaining same. Surely if Ashtead Hospital is doing NHS work there has to be an easier way.
