"I received two appointment letters on the same day"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

1) Received letters (two the same day) with appointment. Phoned to say I was not able to go. Not offered another date. Phone operator did not know which days clinics took place.

2) Mentioned the fact that I received two letters the same on the same day, "that often happens" was the reply.

3) I have been referred by my GP for another reason. I got a letter from the hospital. Phone hospital, get an appointment that is suitable.

4) What is the point of TRAQS?

Thank you for taking the time to share you feedback with TRAQS. We are very disappointed that you were not happy with the service that you received.

TRAQS was developed in June 2012 by Telford and Wrekin PCT to ensure patients are offered choice in regards to the referral process. In the past you may have been given an appointment at a local hopsital with no input as to where you are seen or when. TRAQS will offer as much choice wherever possible allowing the patient to choose between numerous hospital and clinic destinations along with a choice of dates and times allowing the patient to choose a location and date suitable for them. Most patients choose to be seen at their local hospital but you do have a choice and can if you wish choose to travel further for an earlier appointment date.

We are very sorry to hear that you were not offered another date for your appointment. TRAQS can only assume that other clinic dates for your particular referral were not available. Unfortunately, TRAQS has no control over clinic waiting times.
