"Barlborough Hospital - Total Knee Replacement"

About: Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre

Anything else?

All aspects of my total knee replacement were excellent. The only problem I had was one (only one) particular shift of night staff. Opposite to the first night shift, the second and third nights were a different shift generally, the senior staff very different. Their shoes were noisy. They put all top lights on during any night treatment for various patients, the first shift used penlights where possible. The office/staffroom/kitchen type area, directly opposite my sideward, was used in a very noisy manner. Talking, laughing, pots rattling, trolleys etc all very loudly and throughout the night. They had to be asked more than once to ensure the bathroom door (just inside the side ward) was kept closed during the night, as anyone walking past it (staff entering and leaving sideward) turned on the automatic light which lit up the whold ward quite brightly. Although this was the only complaint I had during my 4 day/3night stay, It made the 2 nights I endured their shifts very disturbed. I must say that the whole place was spotless, food plentiful, varied and excellent quality with lots of choices and all the different disciplines of staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend Barlborough to anyone.
