Anything else?
I attended the A&E department on Thursday morning at 4.30am. The ENT duty doctor who saw me, who'd been working all night, was a model of professionalism and kindness. I was then admitted to a bright and clean ward where I was seen by a senior ENT doctor who discussed my condition and possible treatment options, sent me for tests, explained the results, prescribed medication and arranged for me to attend an ENT clinic the next week. Again, I was struck by the doctor's professionalism and kindness during what was clearly a busy day. The responsiveness of the hospital - in terms of my treatment time - was also impressive. News of the planned downgrading of the hospital's A&E service is grim: I can't see how a small generalist unit, which I understand is the alternative, will be able to offer the sort of specialist diagnosis and speedy reaction I received.
"Very professional, kind and responsive service"
