"treatment for brain abscess and associated..."

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

Anything else?

I could not have wished for better treatment. I was admitted to the JR as an emergency patient, forwarded by Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury. SM obviously works very closely with the JR in such cases. The Consultant Neurosurgeon, and his excellent team at the JR were well prepared and successfully carried out an urgent operation. This was then followed by impressive intensive care treatment and highly skilled nursing. The troublesome infection was quickly identified and treated. I don't remember any of this but my husband and sons were very grateful for all that they observed and experienced. Every care was taken to make me feel comfortable. My family was welcomed and included at each step. As soon as I began to be aware of my surroundings, we all felt confident that a brilliant job was being done. The atmosphere on the ward was usually very friendly and good-humoured. There were times for restrained laughter and fun, with care not to disturb other patients! Records were well kept, which was a great help to changing Drs and Nurses. The food was excellent and a great aid to improving health. After care has also been brilliant and very well arranged. I feel humbled and very appreciative of all the skill, professionalism and kindness shown to me and to other patients at The John Radcliffe.
