"thyroid operation"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted to Ward F6 on 10/10/13 for a partial removal of my thyroid gland. After the op I was sent to Ward F4 to recover and stayed overnight. I can honestly say from going in to be discharged I was given excellent care and attention from all areas of staff. At my follow up appointment on 19/10/13 at the ENT department I was given a camera investigation up the nose. I have to say this has always been something I have dreaded being done. I was very tearful indeed but the doctor and especially the nurse were terrific in calming me down and the procedure was a little uncomfortable but not painful and it was over in about 30 seconds. This has not been a very good year for me health wise and I have been to numerous departments of Bolton Hospital. Everyone has been very friendly, caring and professional in taking care of me from consultant level to admin staff. A big thank you to everyone.

How kind of you to take the time to post this when you have had a period of ill health. Many people are anxious about hospital procedures so it is good to know that you received professional and caring support from everyone. Your comments will help to reassure others. We wish you well. Thank you.
