"I was very happy with the service I received"

(as a service user),

A few weeks ago I had a pain in my ankle and foot which turned out to be gout.

Over the week-end the pain became worse, in the end I called the 111 number. They asked me a few questions then said they would send a doctor round to see me.

The doctor arrived as they had told me, after examining my foot and ankle he pronounced it was gout and gave me medication for it. He advised me to go and see my own GP which I did as soon as I was able to make an appointment.

I found the 111 service very helpful as it can be a few days before I can get an appointment with my GP, by which time the condition could be much worse.

I was very happy with the service I received.
