"Treatment for cancer of the stomach and low blood pressure"

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Taken to hospital by ambulance, after collapsing at home, for blood transfusions, and an endoscopic examination of my stomach, to find the source of the bleeding.

I was left to wait, with nil by mouth for 20 hours with no information as to when I would be treated.

The hospital staff I met were very casual. I wanted food, so the endoscope exam was cancelled.

At 4am I had blood transfusions, and had to return to get the endoscope exam.

I felt the hospital was run for the doctors convenience. It was an awful experience - so much time wasting and procrastinating.
