I have had three operations in the past ten months, each time staying in Shand Ward. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment I received whilst there. Every member of staff, who kept the ward spotless, was always very kind and caring. Nothing seemed too much trouble and I saw quite a few incidents that would have tried the patience of saints. There was only one small fly in the ointment and that was the length of time it took to get my medication after being told I could go home. I was told at about 9.30am that I could go, but didn't receive my tablets until nearly 6.30pm. I felt my bedspace was wasted for practically a whole day and could have been used for any waiting patients. That said, it hasn't changed how I feel about all the kind members of staff. I wish them all well.
