"Stressful car parking"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Anything else?

As the clocks had just gone back and I was visiting in the evening, it was dark. The location of the pay machines was not clear. The first two I found were out of order. The next was working but there was no light and it was impossible to see the keyboard to type in my registration. And there was no 'help' button to speak to a human to ask what to do. Probably to the annoyance of residents, I ended up parking on a local side street as I did not want to incur a fine. People are stressed enough when attending, either as a visitor or as a patient. Come on Rake Lane management, get this sorted. Too many people are not happy with the parking system.

Dear Sir/Madam I was saddened to read about your experience of the new car parking system. I can understand how difficult it was for you to discover the first two pay machines were out of order and how frustrating this must have felt. We are listening to all the feedback we have received about the new car parking system and I feel very grateful that people do take the time to express how they feel. The lighting issue is something that we are particularly aware of and are currently working hard to rectify as soon as possible. With best wishes and thanks again for sharing your views, Annie Laverty - Director of patient experience
