What I liked
In comparison to my stay in Queens, Nottingham, Durham was excellent. The surgical ward was spotless, nursing staff excellent, and surgeons helpful. My surgeon checked on me several times a day, which surprised me, at Queens I only saw the surgeon before the operation itself. Throughout my stay I was kept well informed by all staff, from nurses to consultant, and they all put up with my questions!
What could be improved
I'm loathe to complain about the food, I know it's not great, but they do have to prepare a selection of meals for a huge number of people. And then transport it to the wards... Not an easy task I'm sure. Other than that I would love to see more nursing staff.
