What I liked
I very much applaud the steps that the University Hospital is taking to encourage cleanliness and to fight infection.
What could be improved
I was shocked to see push-chairs allowed in the hospital's wards. After a moments thought I realised that there is no difference in the bacteria brought in on wheels and on every visitor's shoes.
Should shoe disinfecting zones be adopted at entrances, on the same principle (though not the same wet process) as on farms during foot & mouth outbreaks?
Also, can you get the message across to parents of young children to keep their shoes off patient's beds.
"I very much applaud the steps ..."
