"Appointment problem at the Queen Margaret"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Received a letter three weeks ago to inform me I had an appointment at the hospital on the 26th October, which is a Saturday, so I phoned them up to double check it was correct and was told yes.

I arrived there only to be told they had all gone home. I then spoke to the receptionist and asked her to check my appointment and lo and behold it was correct, they were wrong and I was right.

We pay money off our wages towards the NHS and for what reason I do not know. I have actually been waiting since July 2013 since the doctor referred me.

What is going on within these hospitals? If it was the other way around and we did not turn up for our appointment, if they wanted to they do not have to see us again.

I will be going to my lawyer about it because if there is something seriously wrong with me, and I have not been seen quick enough, I have told my family to sue them.

Dear active85

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. This was clearly a very unsatisfactory experience and you are understandably aggrieved.

In reading your post I am keen to make sure that we deal with the matter of the appoibntment promptly and make sure that this is re scheduled, if this has not already happened. Please contact me via your preferred method and I will try to help.

I would also be happy to discuss with you the options available for raising your concerns in a more formal way, should you wish to do so.

In the meantime please accept my apologies for the inconvenience and distress caused.

Regards

Louise Ewing
