"Quick but a bit cold"

About: Royal Free Hospital

Anything else?

I went to the hospital on a Wednesday after doing some damage to my ankle the Friday night previous and not being able to walk, I raised my ankle and rested it. I was impressed at how quickly I was seen, I was in an out the hospital in an hour. The assessment nurse was hard to get any words out of other than "I'll get you a wheelchair, it looks fractured". I was passed off to a guy in the X-Ray dept who was awesome. A really friendly guy who helped me get through the X-Rays so quickly and was so helpful, it was surpring. Very nice young chap. I then saw another nurse who was really cold and distant. She seemed almost annoyed to even be dealing with me. She told me it was a sprain and then gave me two forms; one for ankle excercises and the other for what you should do if you sprain your ankle. Bizzarely she explained that compression is no longer needed on sprained ankles, despite her giving me a form with it on and the same advice all oveer the internet and other NHS sites. She then ushered me on my way. Hobbling out on the crutch I was using which was a bit too small that I borrowed from a friend.
