"A visit to breast Clinic"

About: Princess Anne Hospital

Anything else?

My visit to breast clinic was the worst day of my life, as most people I was worried about what the Doctor was going to say, having a large and uncomfortable cyst, that I was told at the ultrasound would need further treatment. However upon arriving at clinic, I was told my English was very good (I am married and have a Polish married name - by way of my Sheffiled born and breed, Father-in-law having been adopted by a Polish resistance fighter). When I told the nurse this was because I am very English (born and breed in East Sussex) she still contiuned to discuss my Northern European back ground ( I have never even set foot in this part of Europe - nor has any of my family). Actually in the clinic room, the visit got worse - the Doctor spoke so badly I couldnt catch a word he said, he sat on my gown and then wondered why he couldn't open it. The Doctor then prodded me twice in the centre of each breast and told me to dress. He then pushed a piece of paper at me from his side of the curtain, the nurse repeated this action with a leaflet and I was left to leave.Leaving me feeling as though I had just been groped. When I left the room I noticed the letter was a discharge letter - and no further treatment had been offered. I did phone back later on in the day to complain and when I was finally put through to the correct department - after having a very frustrating conversation with some poor nurse from maternity, I was told I had been offered treatment at the Ultrsound stage and had refused, I stated that this wasn't the conversation I had indeed had with the Radiologist - again I was told I must have not understood what they were saying to me due to the language problems I may have had. So my conclusion - please dont ask me to attend this clinic again.
