We as a family so dread having an appointment at the Out Patients - Ophthalmologist department here at Barnet Hospital, this is the worst department I have every visited. Unfortunately this is now our nearest hospital for eye screening for my parents. On every occasion we have had an appointment here, you can be assured that you will be there for at least 4 hours if not more . After another long wait I can no longer hold my annoyance. My father along with most of the other patients attending this clinic are elderly and is a diabetic. We are never late for our appointment but they make us sit and wait endlessly with no information as to when we will be seen. This is utterly disgraceful. If we were to arrive 2 hours late for our appointment they would probably say 'you're late, you will have to come back another day', but you feel why should we arrive on time if we are made to wait so long. Barnet should seriously look at the way this department is run and make appropriate changes.
