After reading the dreadful review of Orpington Hospital's bood test department (13th September) I was really apprehensive about having to go for a blood test - nervous for the first time ever about such a simple procedure, and dubious about my first visit to Orpington Hospital. BUT having been there today I have to say the nurses in the blood test department were professional, friendly and efficient, and my blood test didn't hurt a bit - less than a pinprick - and not the faintest bruise to be seen. A friend who was there too had exactly the same experience. It was as pleasant and painless as such a trip can be! Also, to lay to rest another worry, all the sections I saw in the hospital were clean. Also the receptionist at the main desk seemed to be being helpful with the patients she was dealing with.
