"Fantastic hospital, truly excellent care"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

Anything else?

West Middlesex hospital has been my local hospital my whole life but luckily I have had little experience of its service. However, this summer my 9 year old son's appendix ruptured and was removed and he experienced some nasty complications. The quality of his treatment throughout was very high. Not only were all the staff we encountered highly competent, but they were kind both to him, and to us - from the consultants to the cleaning staff. When his surgical issues were over, the paediatric team also ran some further tests, as they had concerns they'd picked up on his heart rate. We just felt very lucky to have had his treatment at West Mid. A few months later, I found a small hard breast lump and was referred by my GP. West Mid called me the next day and I got an appointment for 6 days later. Again, the staff, the treatment, the waiting times were exemplary. I was treated sensitively and thoroughly (mammogram/ultrasound) & had everything explained to me. Fortunately, it was a cyst (which they offered to drain) - the whole service was so reassuring, I am just so grateful. Despite reported financial cuts and bad press for the NHS in general, this amazing hospital and its dedicated staff give their very best.
