On in early October 2013 I underwent a hysterectomy at Leicester General Hospital.
I was admitted at 7. 30 am to Ward 11 where I was seen by various nursing staff, the consultant and the anaesthetist, all of whom were friendly, explained everything and tried to put me at my ease. Unfortunately, I was last on the list and did not go down to theatre until about 3. 45 pm.
Following surgery, I was taken to Ward 31. I had heard horror stories about people's stays in hospital and how they had been treated poorly or knew someone who had not be treated well, all I can say is that they had never been to Ward 31 at Leicester General Hospital.
As soon as I arrived I was treated with respect, dignity, care and friendliness. The nursing staff were absolutely fantastic and so kind.
The whole hospital experience was fine, even the food was quite good!
I would like to say a big thank you to Miss Moss, the Consultant, the nursing team and everyone involved in my care.
