Had my baby on 02/05/2013 at Wythenshawe Maternity Hospital. Referred to Consultant care previous small baby. First saw Consultant when I was having my bloods taken for Downs he told me my result was low risk ? and hadn't a clue how many weeks I was.a week later I was telephoned to say I was high risk whilst an inpatient with Hyperemesis. I had 2 growth scans which said baby would be normal size ,she was born at 39/40 2300kgs. I went into Labour quite quickly and phoned Triage to ask for advice told me to get in the bath stay at home, contractions were very strong and painful phoned again given the same advice told to have yet another bath !! My Mother advised me to go in we rang to say we were coming in and were told we would be sent home if not in Labour, On arrival to Triage at around 2300hrs we were put in a room I was in absolute agony my Mother followed us and went out to ask the Midwives to look at me they were sat at the desk and told Mum in a minute, Mum came back in the room rang the bell and finally I was seen and transferred to Delivery Suite and delivered at 23.40, The Midwife who took over my care then was lovely caring compassionate nothing was to much trouble, sadly I cant say the same for the care on triage, If id listened to them I would have Delivered at home or in the Hospital room with no Midwife, also I wanted Entonox and ended up with none. The Community Midwives Antenatal Midwives and Screening Midwife were all lovely.
