Anything else?
In May when pregnant thought I had ectopic pregnancy which turned out to be ovarian cyst. Most of the staff then were very supportive despite being very busy. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage in June when I mentioned the cyst to the consultant I was told I would need to go back for a scan in 6 weeks. I promptly received an appointment for 6 weeks time. I went for my scan towards end of July yet after 6 weeks I nor my GP had heard anything from the hospital. I contacted the consultants secretary to enquire what was happening as I was in a lot of pain. The next evening I was received a phone call from the consultant telling me the cyst was still there (know that from the pain) and I would be put on waiting list could take up to 16 weeks, great, 16 more weeks of pain. End of September due to pain I contact the consultants secretary to enquire after a date for the op only to be informed it would probably be after christmas as I didn't goon waiting list until 5th Sept at this point she informed me I would also need a pre assessment this hadn't been mentioned in the past, but an appointment was made there and then. Nobody followed up my scan until I chased them up. What I find extremely frustrating is the fact if someone had followed it up the I could have been put on the waiting list at least 5 weeks earlier. If you are wondering why I waited so long before following it up. Its because following the miscarriage the consultant informed me if the scan was ok then there would be no follow up I would only hear if the cyst was still there. When people are treated the way I have been, it makes me ashamed to admit I am a nurse.
"Had to chase up out come of invvestigation"
