Anything else?
I was admitted to A& E on 5.8.13 following a fall, diagnosed with a fractured hip, and sent for a complete hip replacement the next day. Everyone with whom I came into contact was very kind and reassuring. Next morning I was taken for my operation. Unfortunately things did not go entirely to plan! Moments before the operation was about to start I arrested. Thankfully the Senior Anethetist recognised I hadTako-Tsubo and she and her Team worked hard for a considerable time and " brought me back". I awoke in ITU blissfully unaware of what had happened. There followed eight days of fantasic care and gradually my heart responded to the expertise given by the Cardiac team and ITU staff. I was then transferred back to Trauma ward 2A, and after even more first class care, compassion and kindness I was given my hip replacement. After a few complications I left hospital on 11.9.13.It would be difficult to really express all my gratitude to everyone concerned wih my recovery but I cannot emphasize enough how first class my care was in every respect.Thank- again to theJR Staff and to our wonderful NHS.
