My mother has recently been to Ling's Bar twice. Two days after her return home, she fell and broke her hip, so she ended up at Ling's Bar a second time, where she is just about to be discharged.
On the John Procter ward for the first time I was impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, but particularly had contact with Angela Parker who took time to show me things I would need to do for mum once she came home. She was very encouraging and supportive in a way that I have not met in any other area of the NHS where my mother has been.
I would also like to commend Lea Taylor, who, although I only had dealings with when she brought water and tea time things around to mum, I found to be a most caring and thoughtful young lady, who was not only concerned with doing her job but also managed to make me, as a relative, feel encouraged and valued, always having a kind word just when it seemed to be needed.
I wish the standard of care shown by these two ladies was the norm but I fear that is not the case. They should be highly commended for the standard of their care and concern for others.
