My husband was referred by our gp on monday evening,the GP called the hospital before he left the surgery and was told he would be met at the hospital by a registrar. Arriving at A& E he was asked to take a seat and wait for the triage nurse who he saw after approx 20 mins, he was once again asked to wait. after 4 and a half hours.He finally saw the registrar and was told to wait for a brain scan, some 60 mins later he was informed no scanner was available and that he could come home and be sent an outpatiens appointment for a couple of days time. Ater no appointment arriving iIhave called today and been transferred around to 6 different people, none who can tell me what is going on, considering this is supposed to be an urgent brain scan it is appalling.
