Anything else?
Recently I was admitted to the early pregnancy unit for a miscarriage. Whilst at the hospital the staff were kind, helpful and sympathetic, however I was very disappointed as whilst I was there I asked for my midwife and GP to be informed, to save me explaining the distressing situation. I also asked if my 12 week scan at Worcester could be cancelled. The midwife assured me that this would be done. Unfortunately none of this information was passes on. I subsequently received a call from my midwife to arrange an appointment and had to go through unessecary distress explaining the situation. I then received a letter from Worcester hospital to confirm my scan. Again I had to make another distressing phone call. Finally when I encountered subsequent problems and went to my GP they had no information on my situation and I had to describe in detail my experience. I feel very angry that a difficult and upsetting time I was made to suffer additional distress because the staff did not take the time and effort to ensure that key professionals were informed of vital information. I feel strongly that this review should be taken seriously to ensure that future patients to not have to endure the same appalling level of aftercare.
