"Treatment following beach accident - broken leg"

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

Anything else?

Following an accident at St Ives on 20th August 2013, where I broke my leg whilst in the sea, I was taken to A&E at West Cornwall Hospital Penzance. On arrival by ambulance I was seen to very rapidly and had an X-Ray within an hour. There was a delay whilst a decision was made regarding treatment but as soon as this was made my leg was plastered and I was provided with crutches and pain killers and allowed to leave. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful to both myself and also my wife and young children when they arrived approximately one hour later. The Doctor on duty was very informative and he dealt with the situation as quickly as possible. I would like to thank all of the staff at the hospital for dealing with what was a very painful and distressing situation efficiently and with care.
