Anything else?
I spent 24 hours at the Friarage where i suffered a miscarriage. My experience was very mixed. I was in a lot of pain and in labour and the consultant and nurse in A and E could not have been kinder and more patient. The experience was always going to be upsetting and unpleasant by it's very nature but when the overnight shift left and the new nurse arrived things got very upsetting. The new nurse had no empathy and told me I was being moved to the Labour ward. Her attitude was almost one of complete indifference. I asked could I go somewhere else in the circumstances or otherwise go home. I sat up to talk to her and immediately began vomiting but she was in no rush to hand me a bowl. This took a good hour to wait for a response and I was taken up to a different ward where I continued to miscarry. Without becoming to descriptive to upset any readers, I asked the nurse who came in to check on me and change the bed sheets, to remove everything with the sheets from the room. I was upset and didn't want to be left alone in the room with a hospital container. Unfortunately she left the container on the chair beside the bed and I had to wait with it there a good 3 hours until my partner arrived. That was hard and a little insensitive. But the Dr and nurse in A and E could not have shown more understanding and sympathy.
