"Telephone Services: contactin Patient Enquiries"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

This morning I spent 40 minutes and made 8 separate calls trying to get through to Patient Enquiries. I tried both numbers available (0844 811 8110 or 01924 541000) from the NHS website and every time I was transferred from the switchboard the phone rung and rung and then I was cut off. The cost of these calls is 5p or 7.6p per minute. Eventually, the switchboard operator gave me the information I needed about he location of my father (who had been admitted to Pinderfields Hospital yesterday). It took her approximately 30 seconds to find and give me the information. Why was I made to waste so much time and money when the information I needed was so easily available and could have been given to me on my first call? I can only assume it is related to power and profit and no account was taken of the stress caused. This is disgraceful. Carol

Thank you for this feedback; we apologise for the frustration caused. The numbers you quote are the main switchboard numbers. A directory of ward and departmental contact numbers can be accessed via the Trust website.
