I had suffered with pain for a couple of months, sent to see Dr Kahn, who was so nice, was monitored regularly for a few months, was given blood tests and ultrasound, I ended up having to have both my ovaries removed two weeks ago.
At the pre op they had trouble getting blood, which was because I hadn't drunk enough causing my blood to be too thick, which then made me feel faint. I was given oxygen and cared for by two lovely ladies, who insisted on me having a sweet cuppa, and they wouldn't let me go till they knew I was ok.
On the day I went to Jenny Ackroyd center. There I had nothing but friendly, professional help. I met my surgeon Dr Al Samarrai, who is a lovely man, very reassuring, and also my anaesthetist. I went down at the time they said and was met by a lovely lady who was with me right till I was asleep.
Went on to Tye Green ward. The staff on there were not as friendly, but after care was ok. One staff member came across as very unfriendly, didn't smile at all or come across as caring. Food was ok. The anaesthetist even came round to see me on the ward, just to make sure I was ok.
I have had two children at PAH, and two other ops, and have always found my stay there ok. Have found staff to be helpful and friendly, and caring in general. I can only praise the staff here.
Well done PAH and many thanks.
"Excellent care for gynae op"
