"Excellent care for an elderly patient"

About: Torbay Hospital

Anything else?

My 85 year old aunt suffered a stroke and was in a coma when she entered Torbay hospital. Sadly she died after 2 weeks. But in that time she was looked after in the best way possible. Treated with respect, in the cleanest possible conditions by caring and communicative staff. Doctors nurses and other staff were all great, and involved family in all aspects. The staff in the office where papers had to be collected after her death were efficient and sensitive . Thank you Torbay hospital for making a difficult time the best it could be.

Dear Mr Parkinson, May we firstly offer our sincere condolences on the recent loss of your aunt. It was good to read about how well your aunt was looked after in her last days and also the way in which your family were treated and communicated with. We strive to treat everyone we come in contact with with kindness, respect and dignity and it is reassuring to note that this was your experience at Torbay Hospital. Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback; your kind comments will be shared with our staff. Best wishes, South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
