"Eye Clinic /Day Case Mix -up (my mistake!)"

About: Burnley General Hospital

Anything else?

I had appointments at your Eye Clinic 3.00pm 19th September and Day Case Surgery Unit 12 noon 20th September. Somehow, I managed to mix them up, presenting at Day Care at 12 noon on the 19th. Reception staff were sympathetic and, although I didn't have the Eye Clinic paperwork with me, suggested I go there and explain my mistake. Reception and clinical staff at the Eye Clinic were equally accommodating, and I received treatment. Having learned my lesson, I turned up at Day Care on the correct day, 20th September, at the correct time, with the correct paperwork. There, too, I received the appropriate treatment. Despite my initial error, I was afforded sympathetic, good-humoured, help and exemplary professional treatment throughout. I can not speak too highly of the service. Long live the NHS!
