"Very disappointing waiting times for appointments"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

The waiting time for appointments is terrible. I'm not sure whether this is just Queen's hospital or the NHS in general. My father is aged 79 and suffers terribly with pain in his back and legs. I have had to fight and basically make a nuisance of myself for every appointment. After months of telephone calls requesting an update and rarely receiving a call back, after threatening to write a letter of complaint.....an appointment was issued for the following week?! (this relates to Porters Avenue Clinic Physiotherapy Dept) In general the staff are very nice. My father now feels very depressed due to the amount of pain he is suffering and in addition feels that nobody can be bothered with him due to his age.

Thank you for your comment. We certainly do not discriminate against people because of their age, and offer everyone treatment which we think would be beneficial, but I can understand that your father not feel this is the case. If you do have concerns, I would encourage you to contact our PALS team on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so that we address these for you. Yours sincerely, Dr Mike Gill Medical Director
