Having previously had a baby in Nottingham and receiving terrible care I was dreading giving birth again.
However having moved Walsall Manor was our closest Maternity hospital. After reading the reviews I was even more terrified! I needn't have been.
The care I received was fantastic from start to finish. From the Doctors and ante natal care, to the assessment ward, to the ultrasound staff and the midwives who delivered my healthy little girl. Their no-nonsense attitude was brilliant, reassuring in control of the situation no matter how weepy and scared I was they were supportive kind and efficient.
I cannot praise them enough, I was personally delivered by a senior Midwife who was herself expecting her 4th, she was brilliant and moved swiftly to enable a very safe natural drug free birth.
At this point I was classed as high risk due, to meconium in my waters, much to my dismay as I wanted a very relaxed active birth. Even though baby had to be monitored during birth I was still helped to move around to give me the most comfortable position and I still felt very in control.
It was the best experience ever for myself and my husband and everything was done quickly with efficiency. We arrived at hospital at 11am to assessment unit and then moved into Labour suite, I gave birth at 4: 30pm.
Thank you Manor Maternity staff, you made a magical day even better!
