"Disgusting lack of service."

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I have suffered from severe RSI in both wrists for four years. I heard about some recent developments which might have helped. My RSI is so bad it impacts my every day life from typing down to peeling potatoes. I was referred to the fracture clinic at MRI and they rejected me and bounced me to Trafford after a 12 week wait. I said I had the right to choose and they had no right to reject me (I lived on Oxford Road - literally opposite the hospital) and should be allowed the choice of location. Another 12 weeks and I got the appointment for the fracture clinic to see the doctor. I arrived on the day expecting to discuss a possible operation, pain management or steroidal injections. After 35 minutes (15 early, 20 waiting past the slot) I was called to see the doctor To my complete horror I was there for all of two minutes. I was told there was nothing that could be done and that I just had to live with it and learn to manage it (sorry but four years of managing it and its agony!). I was then handed a discharge form signed and completed before I'd even been seen. No examination, no interest, no consideration. Thanks Dr Paul!!
